Project Outline

This initial funding will help to identify how particles translocate across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and the biological effects of particles (carbon black or similar combustion-derived particles) on the BBB. Overall, this study will help to understand the impacts of environmentally relevant particles on the biological systems beyond the lungs, especially on the brain.
