The SAQN Annual Meeting brings together Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) staff, air quality researchers, industry professionals and policy, offering excellent networking opportunities and the chance to learn more about the current and future applications of STFC capabilities to air quality issues.

Registration for the meeting is now closed.

Who is it for?

The Annual Meeting is for anyone with an interest in air quality research, from academia, industry or policy, and is open to all STFC staff who are open to finding new applications for their research techniques and expertise.

The meeting will be held in the spacious surroundings of York’s medieval Guildhall, right in the heart of the city. The venue is a 10 minute walk from the train station and hotel accommodation can be booked close by, making it easy to access via public transport.

Programme outline

Day One will include a session on Air Quality Challenges for Industry, with input from industry representatives and an opportunity to discuss where research can support the development of solutions. We will also have a ‘Netwalking’ session, where delegates can meet new colleagues while exploring the sights of York.

In the evening, we host a 3 course dinner for our in person delegates, followed by the inaugural SAQN Quiz for participants online and in person.

Day Two features a chance to find out more about SAQN funded activity in our Scoping Study Marketplace. Past and current research projects will be available to share their research findings and discuss future development and collaborations. Finally, we will showcase the many and varied capabilities of the STFC, and explore new links to air quality research. If you’re not yet sure what the STFC does or how it relates to you, come along and find out!

For those unable to travel, the meeting will be available online, and we have designed each activity to enable as much interaction and networking as possible.
